Introduction

A URL redirect is a web server function that sends a website visitor from one URL to another. If you remove or disable a page on your website without setting up a redirect, website visitors will reach a 404 error page. Setting up a redirect can help visitors find the content they are looking for more easily.

CSV Import for Redirecting a Large Number of URLs

You may find you have many URLs to redirect- perhaps you are migrating a large Site or perhaps you are re-organising to make a Site Structure more user-friendly.

Press the Import Button to begin.

This will open the Redirect Import View.

In the Prepare tab, you can download a CSV template to get you started.

Open the file in a spreadsheet editor of your choice and fill in each row using the old URL as the source URL and the new URL as the destination URL.

Note- some devices will save the file with spaces or brackets in the name when you download it a second time- you should rename the file to have no special characters except underscores to be sure the process will work without errors.

In the Start Import tab, click the blue Select CSV button to search your device for the CSV file. Select it and, then press the Import Data button.

Return to the URL Redirects Page via the Menu to check your Redirects all loaded successfully.
